  • i live in the most corrupted country

Not that I didn't know that... I grown up in here, off to overseas for quite a few years, then come back and...to my horror, realised that I have to duck and minggle in many 'dirty' activities in order to live a so-called peaceful life.

For instance: soon after I got back home, I needed to renew my residency status, so I went to the local govt office, filled a couple of forms and.. Waited.
Although there were some staff, none of them was working: one was on private phone and the other was reading newspaper. It took me a while to realized that I should give them some $$ to speed things up.
Then I went to immigration office, and got similar experience, in addition with an officer putting his hands inappropriately on my shoulder. Didn't say anything to him, though, as I wanted my passport done fast.
Then yesterday some people from govt called regarding my land paper, not sure where he got my number, he talked a lot but basically was saying the politic in his office, and he was accused on receiving money from me, and needed to meet me face to face. In other word: he wants some money for his suffering...

Not to mention the police officers who came "just to get to know you" or directly/indirectly say what they after.

And oh, one of those people actually sent me a letter asking for a part of my land for government building - as a contribution from a loyal citizen.

    I wonder what's next...

Does any of you have these kind of experiences? What do you do?

  • Thoughts on life and death

For the past few years, I think about life and death constantly. I often read that every people have their purpose to be born into this world, and yet I see most people live just like the others...I mean, we simply live, and die. In some cases, I think it doesn't really matter if we ever alive at all.

In my country, most of my friends are working and started to build a family. They talk about how great life is and how having kids are the best thing in their life. That might be true...but then, I found the friends who got married and have kids are those I lost contact with. Most of them are contented with life full of shopping, pampering themselves, and family - and sometimes, work.

But then again, what's the purpose of life? Does it mean you live to build a family then die? I understand there are great people rising from all of the ordinaries but people like me, who live their life everyday in the same manner, simply trying to do best in whatever thing we do... what's the purpose of our lifes?

  • Things to be grateful of today

I decided to write the things I have to be thankful about today.
I think this way I will be able to remind myself to count my blessings and keep positive attitude towards life...

    1. It's a good day today
    2. There's a customer coming into the shop this morning.
    3. I got Imah with me. She's so helpful!
    4. I spent some good times with my Mum
    5. I signed myself up for an investment - life insurance for the very first time.
    6. My friends' supported me.

It is funny how we sometimes do not see the beauty of life - the small things that makes our life richer. Just like the small stars in the sky that formed milkyway. This is some of my stars....what about you?

  • Hi everyone! I'm just getting started on Xanga... Drop me a comment if you've got some ideas on what to do first - or just to say, "Hi!"
